Estimating Soil Clay Content Using an Agrogeophysical and Agrogeological Approach: A Case Study in Chania Plain, Greece

Thorough knowledge of soil lithology and its properties are considerable importance to agriculture. These parameters have a direct impact on water permeability the content in soil, which represent significant factors crop yield, decisively determining design irrigation systems farming processes. In framework this study, considering inevitable impacts climate change, rational management resources optimization through innovative technologies become importance. Thus, we propose an interdisciplinary approach based robust techniques from allied fields earth (geological mapping, geophysical methods) sciences (sampling, mechanical analysis) assisted by statistics GIS techniques.
